Why is my pool turning green?

Exposure to high heat, heavy rain and poor water circulation creates the perfect atmosphere for algae to grow, this will imbalance chemical levels and cause your pool to turn green. Contact us to have your water tested, you turn it green, we make it clean!

Why is my pool loosing water?

Accepted Answer

There is a number of reasons the pool water level is lowered. Natural evaporation, lots of fun splashing, or it could be a hole in the liner, damage in a filter or a leakage of the pool itself. If you notice your pool loosing water consistently please call us! We can locate the leak(s) and repair it for you!

How do I know when to replace my pool filter?

If the water is dirty, smells bad or there is debris in your pool there is a chance you may need to change your pool filter. Call us, we can check and fix your pump and filter system for anything that may need to be replaced or repaired.

How do I know if my pool needs chemicals?

Our technicians test your water during each visit and apply the necessary chemicals to maintain proper balance. If you're maintaining it yourself, look for cloudy water, algae, or strong chlorine smell as warning signs. If there was an accident (whether a kiddo having too much fun or even an adult) give us a call and we can always help with next steps to get your pool back to a safe and fun place!

When should I open/close my pool?

Most pools are opened in spring (when temperatures consistently stay above 65°F) and closed in the fall before temperatures drop below freezing. 
We generally start any liner replacements at the end of April so your pool is Memorial Day BBQ ready!  Our Staten Island Pool Openings start in May and Closings mid September through October depending on the temperatures. YPS can accommodate for your schedule and needs!

YPS offers commitment free weekly, bi-weekly and monthly maintenance appointments, just call us we are here for you! Don't stress about maintaining chemical levels, pool vacuuming, filter maintenance etc. Just enjoy your clean and beautiful pool!

We recommend weekly or bi-weekly service for most residential pools to ensure water quality and equipment health. However, service frequency can vary based on usage, weather, and pool size.

Do I need to be home during service?

Accepted Answer

No, as long as we have access to your pool area, you do not need to be home during your scheduled service. If we need you to be present we will confirm your availability upon scheduling.

If it is your very first service with us we will schedule around your availability so you can see us, ask any questions and feel comfortable with us in your yard.
